Our Sick Society!
#1
I just saw this a few minutes ago, while checking out the latest news: America’s Most Romantic Couple Has Split Up. Is this really America's most romantic couple, or is the writer just as sick as the news she is reporting on?

And who is the sickest here: the insecure teen, married to a fifty-something person? The insecure teen, with fake elevated shoes, trying to maker herself look taller than she really is? Or the insecure teen, with those hideously immense silicone pumped breasts, that have absolutely no sense of beauty whatsoever?

Or is it the society that encourages such outlandish behaviour? Who is the sickest here? And what does this say about our society? Are we really that shallow, that insecure, that 'for the moment', that morally decrepit?

What in hell is happening to us? I personally wouldn't touch her with a ten foot vaccinated crowbar. I wouldn't even touch her with Tait's Johnson. She is just too ugly, both outside, and obviously inside as well to suit her overwhelming insecurity?

Oh, and like Miley Cyrus, and Lady Gaga, this young lady(?) needs a psychiatrist before she winds up as a drug overdose statistic. And her mother is her manager? Her mother? Give me strength!

It's no different now than it was in 1960 John. Can you say Jane Mansfield, Marilyn Monroe? We near worshipped them.

Modern technology just makes all the cultural stuff so available and in your face.

Speak for yourself when you use 'we'. I Never idolized them for anything.

And too, things are different. If you cannot see it, you are blind.

Well, I know you are myopic, bless your heart. But I'm talking about blind. S6

Well, maybe I am a blind, myopic man, I'll accuse you of sounding like a Southern Baptist preacher then.

I think girls have always aspired to being objects of sexual attention. From day 1 of humanity when ever that was and the females who weren't like this were rare pearls. Same with us gents.

I can see our culture allowing it more now, true. We've always wanted to though.

I remember reading a memoir of a yankee soldier ridiculing the "virtuous" southern ladies. He said if anyone could see them approach his soldiers, they'd be disabused of the nonsense. 1866 America.

All I can see different is we're blatantly open about it.

This girl is no different than Marilyn Monroe, the girl made porn flicks for heaven's sake and she was idolized by the vast majority of American males, Jane Mansfield, etc.

Well, I am required to wear glasses when I drive, so I must be myopic, right? S5

As for the 'Southern Baptist Preacher' part, as the saying goes even a stopped clock is right twice daily, eh? S1

Of course we will see this throughout history. But it is so blatant today, it is endemic of a grossly degenerate society. You cannot accurately lump a few into the many if you are going to be accurate. The truth is that this did not exist to any extent, in the 60s, as it does today.

Do you disagree here? And remember, I am over a decade older than you, and became an adult in the 60s.

No, I agree it is blatant as hell now as opposed to when we were kids.

I guess where I'm at is , where we've changed isn't the desire to attract others vis a vis sex, we always had that, it's that we now seem to have given up on the Christian centric cultural restrictions on openly sexual activity.

The flaws were always there(that's my point), the culture caused us to hide them more. That's it with me. The culture is deconstructed(you're point), so from that view your idea is accurate.

Now, we celebrate perversions and outlandish nonsense. I'm into sex as much as anyone, I just am not proud of myself for being a horndog.

On another forum, there is a thread called "Glorious Human Wreckage". I'll start cross posting the stuff there here, as there is a ton of material to work with. I think we're all sort of self-torturing over there because it's one of the most popular threads. Sort of how like car wrecks and gore can be fascinating.

Christ, just focusing on the issue of obesity and the feminist push towards "fat acceptance" is enough to last for ages. Or we can discuss the growing number of wiggers that exist.

? Wiggers in the 90s were white school-age wannabes who wore their hair sidewalled up over their ears and left a bird's nest of ratted hair at the top - trying to imitate the rappers of the era. Is there a new definition now? The Wigger look was all over high school gyms during basketball season. You's think Dennis Rodman could have had more influence.

Given the scotus decision that came down this morning and St. Petersburg is having it's pride fest this weekend...
Guess who is ushering at Mass? Please pray that they're no disruptions.

TIA
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Polygamy is going to be legalized rapidly, exact same legal logic. What is next? Adult incest? Not sure what legal logic can prevent it now that the scotus has redefined marriage for gay folks, why are they legally special compared to other non mainstream marital desires?

I have long believed we should be tolerant of homosexuals, just as we extend tolerance to people who use tobacco or alcohol and to adulterers (all these can be forgiven--even the polygamy of Biblical patriarchs). We people who hold to Biblical faith still, of course, should point homosexuals to the Scriptures which plainly show their behavior to be judged by God as sinful, and urge them to receive therapy for what is in fact an aberrant behavior. But what God cannot be tolerant of is a direct challenge to His authority, when people presume to redefine what marriage is, defying God's definition. If same-sex unions were called unions, or partnerships, or anything other than marriage, there would be no problem. But daring to defy God's authority in one of the two divine institutions God established in Eden, before the Fall of Mankind and entry of sin into the world, can only lead to the significant removal of divine protection from our nation and from our world. Today's Supreme Court 5-4 split decision is the real and true beginning of the end for America. The troubles that will now come on America in the form of natural disasters and man-made disasters, will eventually lead people to be willing to enforce a Sunday Law, where everyone is required to go to church for "moral instruction" on Sunday. If anyone has ever questioned how what we Adventists have been predicting for 150 years could actually come about, and lead to America accepting a national Sunday Law, this is it. The End of Time has begun.

And just watch--soon the gay community is going to be thrown under the bus, when it becomes convenient to blame them for the disasters that are about to befall America. The very people who now think it is so "righteous" to uphold the "human right" to perversion, will in due time turn on homosexuals and claim they are to blame for all the troubles, when really it is the fault of those who used the gay community in this way, to defy God's authority openly and directly and officially, which is all that Satan needed to claim the right to operate with much greater freedom to bring about his evil purposes.

Ron,

They're no different than the rest of us, born flawed. Just a different flaw is all.

Of course we should be tolerant. My only beef is not with them, it's with the rest of us agreeing to redefine marriage because we're responsible, there are not enough gay folks w/o help from lots of stupid Christians.

Not sure how you decided God is about to pass major league judgement on us. What's your criteria for that view? Wouldn't us holding slaves and treating the Cherokee like vermin be more egregious than this stupidass cultural stuff with God?

How you treat folks is the prime motive of God, not drugs, sex and rock and roll, that's nonsense of American fundies only. If God waited 40 years before judging Jerusalem in 70 AD, He won't be in a hurry to do as you say over this nonsense. We've been ignoring God from day 1 in this nation largely.

I agree with your statement,...all but the last sentence. The truth is that "some of us", maybe even "many of us", have been ignoring G-d. But not the majority.

Did you see his "Yummy Sportbike" page? Great shot of a standard poodle on a bike. I'll post it on the Dog-Cat thread.

That guy's a motorcycle freak!

Stretch marks perhaps? S13

And speaking of Sick, there is this little tidbit.

San Francisco mayor bans travel to NC after transgender bill

First of all, there is no such thing as "trans-gender". The person may wish to be an 'it' but unless all the related parts are removed, the real word if "trans-sexual".

Quote:SAN FRANCISCO (WNCN) – San Francisco mayor Edwin Lee has banned city employee travel to North Carolina after the state passed House Bill 2 this week.

The North Carolina General Assembly on Wednesday overrode a Charlotte ordinance set to take effect April 1 that impacts transgendersexual people and Governor Pat McCrory signed the bill Wednesday night.

“We are standing united as San Franciscans to condemn North Carolina’s new discriminatory law that turns back the clock on protecting the rights of all Americans including lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendersexual individuals,” Lee said in a statement. “Effective immediately, I am directing City Departments under my authority to bar any publicly funded city employee travel to the state of North Carolina that is not absolutely essential to public health and safety.”

It was not immediately clear how many trips Lee’s decision might impact.

The Charlotte ordinance would have allowed (so called) transgendersexual people to use the restroom of their gendersexual identity.

I'l all for a person's liberties, but this is just too much. Go get an operation and have your flute changed out for some other musical instrument, and then help yourself. S18
