6 Reasons Why Rational Thinkers Choose to Believe in God
#21
Here's someone else, the Pope's astronomer, who has no problem accepting science and religion, along with such things as 'space', the Bible, and alien life.

There are a ton of great thinkers who are believers.

Francis Collins is as bright as a human can get and he's a great Christian apologist and heads up BioLogos, a Christian blog.

This pope and Benedict before him are great thinkers. Benedict has written a few awesome books.

The reason Ayn Rand refused to consider God IMO is because the God of the Jews was a challenge to her self image as superior to all and if you frankly look back at Ayn, that is simply unthinkable. Some people are that arrogant.

Ayn would have been great in a pagan culture where the gods were just continuous with we flawed humans. She'd have seen her life as becoming a god like Caesar and would have believed she could surpass them all in hierarchy. No challenges to a girl like Ayn. That's exactly what happened to Alexander in his mind.

As the God of the Jews stands, He is transcendent & separate from His creation and there is no possibility of achieving equality. That bugs some people a whole lot.

Not surprising -- I find Ayn Rand annoying and tiresome. Also, the concept of a higher being got in the way of personal philosophies, especially the lack of morality and morality's replacement by the market and money.

Correct, Ayn literally worshipped mammon. Not just for her accumulation, she preached that to accumulate all one could was the highest and best act of a human on earth.

Very bright girl with a very skewed view of life, IMO.

Ayn Rand finally found her god. Her god was gold. Didn't really do her much good.

Just another G-dless Ashkenazi in my book. To her, everything was totally in the Ego.

She may have been pointed in the right direction intellectually(not spiritually), but like practically everything else, "Too Much of a Good Thing is Just Too Much".

I read in one place that Ayn Rand was killed by one of her followers, who thought she had gold in the trunk of her car. I don't know if that story is true.

Wickipedia says she "died of heart failure on March 6, 1982, at her home in New York City." Perhaps she didn't believe in seeing doctors, either.

One thing I disagree on with folks like Ayn with most all Christianity. She chose to be godless here, that's true.

She will choose Christ at the eschaton( everyone will) and I believe the Lord will accept that worship like He did that of Thomas or Paul. When Thomas refused to believe w/o seeing, Jesus did not state his faith was invalid, He just said our's is more blessed for believing w/o seeing.

To me she was just a shill for globalist capitalist types and their interests at the expense of everything else comprising a nation.

I laugh when I see all the libertaritards worship her on social media and quote her all the time. Under her proposed theology (it's a religion unto it's own), they would be corporate chattel, with everything reduced to consumerism.

Somehow I thought she was the saint of anarchistic Libertarians, such as the L.H. Rockwell crowd. Had no idea the left worshiped her.
