I do not like this. I think Erdogan and the USA are in league together in this and I don't like it.

And I believe you to be wrong.  The US has been helping the Kurds and many of the different groups involved in the fighting in that area.  Only the PKK is exempt from our help.  But Erdogan is going out of his way to target the other group fighting ISIS.  And they have been getting a little bit too successful.  And this Erdogan does not like.

If the US is involved in any way, it would most likely be due to a Hobson's Choice presented by Erdogan.  Either we remain silent on all this, or we can go find another place to base our air force.  Remember, we still have an air base we use on a continuous basis.  It has strategic importance.

Now, I know you believe with all your heart that the US is the Evilest of the Evil, and we are beyond redemption.  But their being in league together on this is  highly improbable.

They are fighting Kurds and ISIS John. This was a strategic move was to cut off the Kurds from further westward advances. They are assisting Sunni Arabs and Turkmen, not Kurds.

If the Kurds had not made good advances across northern Syria, Turkey wouldn't waste their time on this.

Of course they are.  And by "they" I'm talking about the Turks, i.e. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.  If MacDaddy is in favor of this, he is swimming against what we as a nation are all about, AND his Defense and State, are against it as well.  People generally aren't that brain dead, or all that EVIL as you keep shouting from the highest towers.  I don't even think MacDaddy is Evil.  He just got indoctrinated in all this Collectivist Marxist bullshit at an early age, and most likely FEELS good about what he is doing.  He doesn't have the common sense to look around and use what little wisdom he possesses.

And Turkey isn't fighting All the Kurds, only the ones between it and Syria.  If he went after the ones in Iraq, and a little bit of Syria, he would have the US coming down on him like a ton of bricks.  The Kurds are the only real current reason for us to be in that area, now that The Beast is gone for right now.  Erdogan, and his son, who controls big business with oil in mind, are against any Kurd over in Syria.  It stymies their agenda.  So instead of singling out his one enemy, the PKK, he also includes the PYD, or whatever their acronym is spelled.  And all because the PKK and PYD are not shooting at each other.

But we are NOT assisting the Sunnis or Turkey overtly.  And if it winds its way around to the point where we are, its not intended.  Its just Dumb-Stupidity on the part of bureaucrats.  What else is new there?  Gah

Would Nazi Germany and Stalin's USSR have been just "dumb bureaucrats" to you before all the data was available IF you were born there?

On another note, Turkey is at war with Kurds from within Turkey, within Iraq, within Syria.

They would be warring on those in Iran if they ever get the ability to strike out like the other 3 have and Kurds don't live anywhere else for Turkey to war on them, that's a pretty comprehensive list. Kurds are Turkey's bogeyman and they're going to find out American foreign policy has no use for them the day we finish with our current campaign in Syria. We'll drop them like a dirty dish rag because unlike Russia, that's how we treat those that are stupid enough to throw in with us that don't have a serious strategic role played for our benefit like west Europe or Japan does..

Please stop patronizing me, ok? In hind sight, and fore sight, there is naturally something terrible about them. Hitler was the more crazy of the two. Stalin and Mao were perhaps the two most evil leaders in the 20th century. But they had other evil people to do their dirty work for them. But not everybody was that way. For every Evil person there were hundreds of duped followers, who took leave of their senses.

I'll say this again, as I have in the past, I'm willing to give others the benefit of the doubt in many things, because I can't get into their mind. And I don't have to attach "Evilness" to them to raise Cain about their actions. I know right from wrong, good from bad, and I apply morality and inner self-respect to who I am. That's why I think so little of Trump. And Hillary, she's off the scale, and I'm not sure if it is Evil or just plain blockheadedness. Logic is the important thing to me. But you run around hurling vindictives like like they are a dime a dozen. Does it bother you in the very least to think the worst of others, until they prove they aren't? Is that your idea of Christianity?

Further, I give you a hard time because I personally like you Patrick. That's why I send you books. I'm trying to help you. But your idea of right and wrong is always within the realm of extremes. Think about it for a few seconds.

Turkey seems decided to fight the PKK seriousely and occupy parts of Syria in that effect.

IMO Turkey is getting closer and closer to civil war. The troubles at the border, already with two different groups, could by contagion, expand to other gorups and regions further north and west.
Just a question of time for them to decide which group could be oppressed or rebelling.

Erdogan's purges will inevitably tribalize politics and the army.
