Florida mosquito warning
#1
Lived down here since '87. Never seen the bugs this bad...
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

They are really bad in and around my house too.

Of course I am not helping things. The water containers I am using for my self-irrigating planters, are proving to be breeding grounds for the critters. I am in the process of changing all this out and eliminating the water pans under my terra cotta post as we speak.

I'm learning a lot of valuable lessons about container gardening this year, and that is only one of several. S5

I have seen them worse, but they are pretty bad.
Right now I'm vacationing at a nudist resort. You can imagine what a banquet all that exposed skin is for mosquitoes.

Haven't noticed them too bad here.

Maybe they heard there was an easy meal up with you, Dillo?

I know you think you understand what you thought I said,
but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant!

A few years ago we have a problem with mosquitoes here transmitting West Nile disease, one of the pitfalls immigration.

West Nile is in Florida as well.
The mosquitoes are worst around dawn and dusk. Use repellent or stay inside a few hours around dawn and dusk.
I went for a midnight walk around the resort last night and saw very few mosquitoes. And my room was near several retention ponds, lakes, and swamps.

Nah, that makes too much sense. Cant do that.
We need more dragonflys and bats.

We have someone in the WH, who is batty. Get him down there to chase mosquitoes. S13
