The walking dead tv series on AMC

Too bad ... they're a walking metaphor.

Also too bad that I didn't pick up a bunch of Hornady's Zombiunition when I had the chance ... S4 ... at the time it was slightly more expensive as a novelty item ... but that was before 'expensive' ammunition became 'redefined' in recent months.

I don't think you really need an "end of the world" scenario to put people at each others throats. We had a minor riot in Boulder last night because it was cold and snowy and they wouldn't open a theater early for some rap show ...

If this was Atlanta, I could see it happening, but in Boulder?

Did anyone catch last night's season finale? Interesting finish.

I dunno about this series.

If this really did happen, a zombie apocalypse, I would run around shooting people I didn't like, enjoying everything illegal there was.

Assuming you aren't a 'walker' as well, right? Spiteful

Carl has come a long way. He can make the tough, practical decisions. Then chew out his dad for wussing out.

My take is that in his desire to be treated like an adult, he has gone overboard in what he considers is showing his ability to kill, whether it is needed or not.

I totally agree with Hershel. He committed murder killing that teen who was in the process of slowly handing over his shotgun.

If his dad doesn't straighten him out and reinstall a conscience within him, he is liable to become a small scale replica of "The Governor". Carl was showing his displeasure at having been left out of the ambush, and he thought he had to prove his manhood by killing that young fellow needlessly.

That alone proves he is not ready to be treated like the adult he wants so desperately to be. At this point, human lives are precious, and not to be wasted. There is a difference between zombies and live human beings. The teen may well have proven to be an asset to the group.

I interpreted the young man's behavior as attempting to get closer to Carl in order to disarm him. He was ordered to drop his weapon and instead, acted as if to very slowly put it down while moving toward Carl.

Maybe that's not what the script called for.. Hershal's reaction leads me to believe it's not.. But if I saw a man, able to overpower me, moving closer to me after I ordered him to stand down, I would shoot him too.

Let's not forget that the young man was there to kill Carl, his whole family and all his friends.

There may be some truth to that, depending on each individual's thinking. However, the teen was very slowly, and carefully, handing the gun to him. This required leaning forward to hand it to him. Carl should have made it clear he was to set his weapon on the ground immediately.

Also, the kid was there, under the orders of the Governor. He was drafted into the group, whether or not he wanted to be there. Further, he was obviously trying to run away from the fight, and just happened to run into Hershel and Carl.

Eh, I still wouldn't have risked getting grabbed and disarmed. Especially not if I were guarding people who relied on me. I still think Carl did the right thing.

Mercy is a fine concept when you're in an air conditioned room typing away on a computer.

If I become a walker then it is patently obvious I have no sentience anyhow and therefore ceased caring about trivialities.

Here's Allahpundit's take on the season finalle: “Walking Dead” season finale somehow pretty watchable. And even he is worried about Carl as I am.

Quote: Little Carl’s getting more interesting by the week, too. Shooting that kid in the face proves that he’s well on his way to Shane-dom, and maybe eventually to becoming a Governor himself. (Carl’s “I did what I had to do” speech mirrored in some ways the Governor’s speech in the opening scene to Milton or Myron or whatever his name was.) I wonder if the writers have the stones to turn Rick and Carl against each other next season, with Rick forced to put down the Frankenstein he’s created in order to keep himself and the group safe.

Morgan uses possums and spears to "auto-spearfish" them ... sharp pointy flypaper ... now THAT'S creative!!

I wonder how he can be persuaded to join the community? His kind of creative survival is a decided plus everyone could use for staying alive.

I hope he doesn't get killed off next season.

Oh, well, fuck you, thanks for fucking that wet dream up.

If you really think about it, when shit breaks down, the cattle will be so used to following rules that theoretically it may be illegal to at least a general segment of the apocalypse.

Maybe I should just sit to power outages, rioting and economic meltdowns.

Oh, for heaven's sake! Can you believe this?

This looks like an interesting parody. And I really enjoyed Zombieland, so I'm going to have to watch a bunch of old bloke farts talking trash and taking care of business.

Not if one oppresses the other. I would love to oppress liberal white people.
