We all have been told countless times that you should stay out of the sun, or you will get cancer and die. It has been drummed into us over the last 20 years, right?
So, what is THIS all about? Even an AP clock, is right twice a day. _________________ The Political Spectrum Explained

That's why I only go out in the sun at night!

Sun (UV) exposure in moderation is good. Sun (UV) exposure in excess is bad. Not too complicated.
Here in Florida it's not hard to get excess exposure. Up north by Warbike or Aurora the sun is less intense. _________________ Different eyes see different things. Different hearts beat on different strings.

| Hey, It's been 110° the past few days here. Shade is good. Air conditioning is better. How our soldiers can wear battle armor and tote heavy equipment all day in >120° heat is mind-boggling. |

In Florida we have a UV index in our weather forcasts. It's on a scale of 1-10 for normal-high and it expands to 15 for very high. In the summer it is often above 10.
At 10 or greater you can burn in 15 minutes or less. 15 represents extreme danger. _________________ Different eyes see different things. Different hearts beat on different strings.

It's been 118 or so around here lately, and working in no A/C at the motorpool is hot, sweaty, and greasey to no end. You will sweat alot just be picking up a wrench.
When we do have to wear all our stuff, like I do in a wrecker for recovery sometimes, drink water. I drank like 10 gallons I think over the course of about 5 hours. I didn't have to pee.
About the only thing you can do, especially since vehicle AC sucks.
The sun is bad here - you will burn in like 10 minutes if you're not careful. Sounds crazy, but we wear sleeves down as the "uniform", though we violate that alot. Obvious purpose is there, but we would rather stay cool.
I am Scandinavian with Red Hair. I am a burn-magnet, but I manage. It's called SPF-50.
What I have always wondered, if the sun on average is bad for people, why our fascination with tanned bodies? _________________
