Question Question Question

I use candles to keep the room from smelling that stale barracks smell.

I am with HW on this, we have one that is a real hoot to shoot, and drives tacks, especially with the scope we have on it.

Yeah. I'm in a poor position on this one. I've fired one but never owned one. It's just never struck me as being worth the trouble ... especially the trouble of another set of dies ... for a cartridge whose ballistics I don't particularly find all that impressive.

With regards to the fun shoot I referenced above, I'm pretty sure that the guys with SKS/AKs are going to get crushed by the AR/Garand crowd. I like U.S. service weapon designs ... sue me ... or call me an ignorant snob ... whichever you prefer. Laughing

Hmmm ... no SKS in that pic ... does that mean you don't put it in the same league? Confused

I guess the photo was too big for some reason, so JohnL or someone deleted it. I didn't have a problem at all with it, did you?

No, they are just in differing locations yak. That is all.

I think it might have been out of view. Now the whole picture is out of view. Don't know what happened ... but if the aspect ratio/size violated site rules, somebody may have booted it.

Probably a biased misconception on my part regarding the SKS. I tend to associate them with folks that p*ss away ammo firing from the hip ... spending their time on perfecting their "bump fire" technique rather than actually developing much in the way of marksmanship skills. Also, the steel case crap that they tend to leave layin' is very, very bad news for truck tires.

I would have changed it to a link.

They're fine and fit the text section of a post well. Hmph.

Anyhow, I feel you on the double-tap crap Yak, why "bump fire" if you can just shoot someone or something right the first time and be done with it?

It's for kids and other stupid people to feel cool I guess. Realize that marksmanship these days often takes backseat to amount of rounds expended in the shortest period of time.

I have a Finnish M-39 in wonderful condition with serials matching. Shoots really accurately. And I got a 91/30 with a "Frankenstock" as a door prize for buying the Finn. Photos to follow come Thursday at the earliest.

I think my gun buying spree is over, as I need to get back to slow ammo stockups and paying off my truck.

You have right at five days left. So I'll bet you it will go up on you.

Yuck ... Mad ... had one of these ... bought from a pawn shop when I was in college ... linkage was broke and braised ... POS. Hold out for an 870!! There's cheap .. and there's cheap junk ... the price is still about what I paid in the early '80s (without adjusting for inflation) ... but it's still probably junk.

In other news, I snoozed and loozed on a Sig 238 ... Bummer ... short story, it was a great price on a little .380 version of a 1911 ... sweet ... but I drug my feet! Crying or Very sad

I don't know what photo was being discussed being deleted for being too large... but here is a solution for future large images you'd like to post.

Copy the image to your desktop. Go to ImageShack and select the browse button, then upload the image. A large Image should trigger a question for making a smaller version.

Or just use a program like LViewPro that lets you size any image and convert it into different formats such as jpeg, tiff, and bitmap. You can also crop it however you want, and it gives the ability to do screen capture when combined with your Print Screen key and Paste from Clipboard--which defeats those websites that try to prevent you from copying them by disabling the copy function.

You loser.

Really? That bad? Yours may have been terrible, this one might not be like that. They offer a return period anyhow for this gun. I am sure it can't be that bad.

Why did you drag your feet on that Sig? Just why?

For your information I didn't 'lose' it! ... I 'sold' the POS. Probably fine, it's just that I've NEVER, EVER had any trouble with an 870.

I tend to want to sleep on it. Which is usually too long for the real screamin' deals. Embarassed

Yea, you need to be a tiny bit more impulsive. Haha.

I've never had trouble with my 870 Mag and it's been through EVERYTHING I swear it. To me, it's the pinnacle of shotguns, and yes I mean ALL shotguns.
